Cthulhu Chess

Andre (from Microscale Sensors) has just beaten me at chess (I won the last game, in both cases the loser lost the game through a careless error, rallied magnificently but not well enough). He wanted to set up for a new game (not to play, so we'd get some work done today. I disagreed, because then we'd just play a few moves, and then it would by 5:00 and no one would have done anything. So we just shoved all the pieces into the middle.

And now they're huddled there in the middle of the board, cringing away from the edges as if afraid of some threat of doom from Beyond.
