I passed on your idea about inventory tables to our GM/ system author and he kind of wanted to see such a set of tables, but then we played "revenge of the B-movie" http://www.giantbrain.co.uk/bmovie.htm and decided that that was a much better system for producing inventions. I may give it a go :)
