Oh gods oolong has "discovered their trains" he's such an amazing idiot.

First off apologies for those that I've forgotten the names of, that I've missed from the endless lists of names that are so vital for oolong's write ups, or that I've accused of being somewhere where they weren't. Corrections will be gratefully received and implemented.

Dearest and most well-beloved brother Lucian, greetings,

I write this for to tell thee of the most marvellous adventures that are to be had in that country that hight Waygate, for never have I won such worship, nor seen such strange adventures, but that it was in those marches. And there also, there are many strange and goodly customs that I have never seen, save in that land.

Haply, I was enquest, and so passed a ways in a forest, and so by adventure came upon a fellowship. Now in this fellowship, it so happed that the good warrior Katrin had the command, and that were a great pity for her, for in that fellowship were the most turbulent warriors that ever were, and oft was there evil will amongst them. And therefore, Katrin was not of good cheer, as she was aforetimes. And with her in this fellowship were Elvin, that I had forghten with and overcome at the tournament of the circus of destiny, and wit thee that he was a strong warrior, but it so happed that I was better breathed, and so I had overcome him. And the whiles I was in that fellowship, he did him squirely, and gave me aid with mine harness. And also with them was Tweek, that was a strong warrior and holy. And thus I greeted Tweek: ho fair warrior Tweek, it hath been long time since I hath seen thee, for he is a strong warrior, that I had encountered at the tournament that was called the tournament of the circus of destiny, and there he overcame me, and so it falls on me to do him worship. And also with them was Zayin, that was a worshipful warrior, as I shall tell thee anon. And also with them was Coseon, that was a good warrior and had sworn a oath for the protection of elves in especial, and Lamoriel and Watcher and Olidurold, that were the stillest of scouts. And with them also was Trakul that was a strong man of his hands, and Master Belladonna that carried a great sword. And in that fellowship also was Sy, that had sworn an oath that she should never touch metal, and ever would she uphold it, save once, as I shall tell thee. Also there were Gonzo, that was from a distant land, and an enchanter, and Kavara, that was of the City of waygate, and a good sorcerer, and Rebecca, that was a fire-enchanter. Also with us was Carl that was a goodly leech, and save for his goodness and great skills, there were many of that fellowship that lived that might have died. and also there was Akkarin the good preist. And these warriors went forth for to guard the lords of that place, who were having great council together, that they might give judgements and pass laws, and so I joined that fellowship.

Wit thee, cousin , that in that land there were many adventures known, that were the adventure of the Drow, the adventure of the plague lady, the adventure of the scarecrow, and the worshipful combat of the two noble houses, and also there was another quest, that was the adventure of the foul traitor lord, but he made semblant for to be a good lord, and so this quest was not known.

So first turn we to the adventure of the drow
So the whiles we guarded these lords, they were amongst us, and had speech with everych of us, that they might know what manner of men we were, and if we be warriors of worship, for it was the great law-making, and these lords must decide an they were to hold themselves apart, or if they betook themselves and their lands unto the kingdom. And so few of them spake unto me and asked where I was made a warrior, and of what adventures I had undertook, and so told I them of the adventure of the fire-fiend and of the ill customs of the baron Scarafold, and how he was overthrown.

At that time, it so happed that there came upon us many grimly beasts, that were brought there my the mean of sorcery. And these miscreatures were of fire, and of water and of earth and of darkness. And so all these miscreatures came upon our fellowship and assailed them, for to slay the lords, and despoil the lands. And so held we against them, and never yeld us. And in this fight, it so happed that Zayain made semblant that he were no worship, for he spake that it was his custom to assail his foes upon the flank, and to strike from bushment, that they shall be unware. But I ween that that is but a device. For it so happed that we did assail a miscreature, and he cried Ho! assail this creature not, for I would have the fight alone. And so parted I aways, and they did strong battle together, and Zayain had the victory, and ever did he speak an he was without worship, but this is of no force, for I wit that he did the battle alone, for the increase of his worship. It is sooth that this Zayian be not gentily, and speaketh bawdy, but wit thee that he fighteth with noblesse, and therefore I call him a good warrior, and a worshipful man of his hands.

And so many of these creatures came upon us, and we slew them, and there came also scouts, that had espied the Drow that sent these beasts, and told us where he held himself, that we might go for to slay him. And thus spake Elvin: that in the hours of dark the Drow's powers waxeth passing strong, and in the day, they wax less, and that therefore we should come upon him in the morn, and so held we together and guarded those lords the long night. For wit thee, that ever did more creatures come upon us, and we foughten with them, and there powers also waxeth, and many strong creatures was I foughten with in that melee. Also there came a servant, that was in service to yeoman. For it was the custom of that land that servants might be had for small price, so the lady Weaver maketh mention: that for some years a freeman might be made a servant, and at the end of his service be his freedom returned, but this servant had fled his yeoman, for he was but ill-kept, and on his adventures he had espid a great force to the south.

Also came there a Champion of Vengeance. For it is the custom of that land that there gods have everych a passing strong warrior, and this champion of Vengance was the warrior that pretendeth to Vengance. Mark thee well brother that it would be greatly to thy worship to be matched with these strong warriors, but I might not, for all of our fellowship were forfoughten and forbled and therefore we could have ado with only those creatures that we might not do gently with. And this champion spake that it were to our disworship that the Drow should send such creatures against us and that we stireth not against him, but Katrin answered him that upon the morrow he should see our answer, and so he left us.

Right so the number of creatures waneth, and we set guards and so rested us. And in the night, fair brother, I beholt a marvellous dream, that was the strangest sweven that ever I dreamt, and it was in this wise: that there was a crone, that squatteth upon my chest, that I might not move, and her countenance was the most grimly that ever I beheld, and she spake that all was ruin and foul disease, and so woke me.

Upon the next day we took we unto the forest, for to be foughten with the Drow. For there were ever a great coming and going of scouts that did report his movements, and also they told us of the army that gathered to the south. And so set we guards upon the lords, and went aways into the forest. And ever as we made our ways there were creatures as had assailed us afore times, save of darkness there were none, for it was the day. And ever had we ado with them, and ever held our fellowship together, and so had the better part, and so overcome them. And whensoever on of the fellowship took maims, it was but short while but he was healed by the mean of Carl, that was a great leech and a wise man.

Right so also did we encounter a flying spirit, in the likeness of a great bird that hight Tengu, and also with some strong warrior of that land, that were unfriends to the Drow, and pointed they them our passage, that we might have ado with him, for they might not overcome him by their mean. At the last, we encountered with the Drow, and with him were many grimly miscreatures, and they had taken a strong place, that they might hold the high ground, and ever did the creatures of water tend one another, for to heal their maims, that we might not overcome them save that we cam betwixt them and so slew them singly. So wit thee that these were cunning warriors, and so we dressed ourselves to them, and gave them battle long time, and many fell. And wit thee brother that this Drow was a strong warrior and an mighty enchanter, for never hath I felt such blows but those that he gave, but at the last the mighty warrior that height Belladonna smote off his head, and bore it ever with her for it was greatly to her worship that she overcome that strong warrior. It so happed that in this fight, and many others, the wiles I was forghten with the miscreatures of earth, they smote the gound with such magics that I might not move. And therefore did Sy, that was a strong warriour drag me from the earth, and make pitious complaint that she should touch my harness, for it was her custom that she should never touch no metal.

And at the end of that melee, there were many good warriors of our fellowship that were slain or else might not move of there wounds, that were guard Katrin and Lady Weaver and many other good warriors. and so returned we to the hunting lodge, where the lords kept council and rested us.

Now turn we unto the adventure of the scarecrow. The whiles we rested us, of a sudden there were many that had a vision, that saw a haggish figure that strove in the village of Wellford, so so dressed us in haste, and yede us to that village. and ever as we went there were those that strove with us, to let our passage. and many of our party took maims, and the leaches did all that they might, but the strength of there gods waned in that place, for that was there the land of the plague lady. But at the last we reached that village and there were many that hove there, and stood about the scarecrow. For it is the custom of that country, that each village should have a scarecrow, that is of the gods, and doth perform wonders. So those that hove there spake, saying: hold, for we, by our device strivve to heal this scarecrow, that is not goodly. An thou cometh nigh-hand, thou art at peril of thy body. Wittest thou fair cousin that I spake them as a warrior ought: As for that, I dare right well abide the adventure, and so went I nigh to the scarecrow. In this, I discovered their trains, for it was a device for to destroy good warriors, and so fell they upon me, and this scarecrow assailed me with sorcery. And by this we knew them to be foul traitors, and servants unto the plague lady, and strove us with them unto the uttermost. And there I rencontred with many warriors, and sourcers, and they wore goodly harness or else had about them strong magics, and especial against the scarecrow I might do it but little harm, and therefore turned I to Rebecca, that was a wise woman and a passing good sourcer, and bid her put forth her power, that I might strive with this scarecrow. And she did, but it were to her harm to assummon so great a spell, so I call her of the noblesse, that she would adventure her life to aid me the whiles I strove with the scarecrow, and an thou doest recounter with her, I beg that thou shalt do her such worship a beseemeth goodly. And so encountered I with that scarecrow, and and with this magic I gave it such maims that it might not stand and so in short time it fell. And as it fell it struck about it with the power of the plague lady, that many good warriors were defoiled of her sickness.

And this was a great melee, for when it was over, there were many of our fellowship that might not stand, and some that were slain, and some that took such wounds that they were in fear of there life. And so we stopped their bleeding wounds as best we may, and took them in haste to an hermatage. And there within was a wise lady, thaty healed us of our wounds, and clensed us of the the plague, through the element of fire, and she spake that it were a great agony to be clensed thereby, and from the countinance of that fellowship, it were sooth, and yet I thought it no force, for thou wottest, that I have never felt an agony of fire, save once.

Right so, that fellowship returneth to the hunting lodge where those lords kept court, and so now shall I tell thee of the most worshipful combat betwixt the two noble houses. And I shall tell a nobel custom that they had in that land, that when two of the noble houses were in dispute, that they my not agree in no wise, they should each appoint champions, to do battle for their lords, and that when the combat be done, that they should accord themselves with that judgement, and make a love-day between them, and holden to the party of the victor, and then dispute no more.
It so happed that there was such a dispute, that was betwix Lord Himiyani, and Lord Stonebrow, and so they appointed them champions from our fellowship, that were called champion Truckel and Master Belladonna, and these two were noted warriors, and so fought them, and each gave the either many sad strokes, and Master Belladonna lashed at Truckel and he again her, but at the last she might not dure, but she would not yield her, and so at last she fell, and the victory was given to Champion Truckel and to Lord Stonebrow, an then the lords accorded them both, and had fair speech together.

Then it so happed that the foul and traitorly lord was discovered. It was the custom of that country that after the great council of lords, then one of the lords should be appointed as haut lord over all of them, and at this council, it so happed that lord Menhir must cease to be the haut lord, and some other lord chosen in his place, and so they chose lord Stonebrow to be the haut lord, but he was not there, and so lord Himiyani stood for him at the ceremony. And lord Menhir passed the cup that signified the Lordship, and lord Himiyani drank thereof, and choked and died, for the cup was empoisoned. And this Menhir spake, that it was he that had empoisoned the cup, and that he would not give up the lordship, and also that he was a child of suffering. And this suffering was a god of that country, and it were the custom of the gods of that place to give strange powers to those that call themselves their children. Rightso Lord Himiyani's servents ran at him, and gave him sad strokes, but by the mean of suffering, the strokes rebounded against them, and they died of them. And a lord that height Lord Wolfe spake, that he would not bend knee in no wise, and that Menhir be not his lord, and would get no fealty from him. Then stood forth a warriors that hight [TONYCITHINK], and lashed at this traitor lord Menhir, and he took great hurts, for the power of suffering rebounded his blows, but he was bigly made, and strong to dure, and struck again, and so fell them both, and this Menhir was slain, and the warrior fell in a swoon. Then were many malengines and many of Lord Menhir's trains discovered, and lord Stonebrow was acknowledged lord of that country for the next year. But lord Himiyani might not be recovered, for the poison was still in his body, and so it was a long day before he might stand.

And at the last, fair cousin, we encheived the quest of the plague lady, that was called the hardiest adventure that was in those lands, but I doubt not that there are many other quests that are in those lands that I wot not of, for that was a wonder country. And so the fellowship dressed them and got them in the goodlyest harness that might be had, an so went we unto that place where the plague lady was. And so passed we aways, as so spake Tweek, that was a goodly warrior, and beloved of the god of wisdom of that land, that in that place where the Plague Lady held her court, the gods of that land were not. And there we encountered with the plague lady and all her court. And wit thee cousin, that these were all hardy warriors, or else mighty enchanters or else grimly miscreatures, and therefore we did strong battle there. And this lady and her servants cast the most perilous enchantments that ever I wot of, for one of them struck me but twice I then was I ware that an I should recounter with him but once more then I should fall swooning to the earth, and therefore repaired me to some goodly enchanters of our party, and bid them heal me and save me from these strong enchantments. Then turned I again and encountered with that enchanter, and I had the better part, and gave many sad blows, and chased many enchanters, and one of them cast a spell that was of the air, and so I slept a whiles, till there came one of our fellowship that shook me and bid me waken. Right so I returneth to the melee, and all the Plague Lady's court were destroyed save the lady, and that fellowship gave her strong battle, but she was passing strong to dure, and mighty in her enchantments, that none could stand against her, save but they were protected by some mighty enchantment. And at the last she fell, and many good warriors fell with her, for her death-blow was of such strength that none might stand it, and all things for a score of paces around fell dead, save the warriors that were tended by good leaches. And so we had the victory, but many fell in swoons.

Then were we ware that the Lady Weaver was not with us, and though were were sore forfoughten, that fellowship leapt lightly to search for her. Gentle cousin, in this that fellowship showed the best tatches, for wit thee that we were all forbled, and near swooning, yet they went hotfoot through the forest, through slade and slake for to recover her of any scathes.

And so returned we to the hunting-lodge, where the lords yet took council, and told them of our deeds, and of the quests we had enchieved, and of the marvellous adventures that happed in those parts. And by adventure, lord Himiyani had recovered him, and told us that he and the city that he was lord of would hold them with the kingdom, for he bethought that we were goodly men.
