No one on the friends page is ranting about this, not even elmyra, so I figured I should mention it

George Galloway MP (Bethnal Green and Bow) is on celebrity big brother.

He already has the worst voting record of any MP who doesn't have a valid excuse (in a coma, shin fain party member, is the prime minister or whatever) but now hes decided that he should appear in big brother, so he's pretty worthless anyway.

This was presumably so he could miss a debate in Parliament today about the Crossrail project, the new trainline which will affect many of his constituents. His spokesman said Mr Galloway had already spoken in the Commons on the second reading Crossrail bill, although he admitted: "It would be nice if he was there."

get back to work, George is here

So my question is what order do you rate these things in an MP:

Accepting bribes ("loans")
Addiction
Having sex with everything in sight of a hypothetical sighted person standing where the MP is standing sleaze
Inexplicable invasions
Refusing to turn up at all

EDIT:
Channel 4 have censored George whenever he tried to say anything political. RESPECT is complaining, and C4 is claiming that they want provide political balance, and since none of the other contestants are saying anything, they can't transmit his views.

Big Brother != freedom of speech

gosh

I can't understand what possesses anyone to appear in something like Big Brother, but someone who claims to be a politician?

If someone told him it was a good idea for his image, then they were either stiching him up or as stupid as he is.

Bonus question:

Will the number of Galloway's old voters who are as horrified as [livejournal.com profile] baloonworld and stop voting for him be greater than, or less than, the number of new voters he gains because they "saw him on telly"?

Democracy works just fine provided everyone else has the same opinions that you do. ;-)
