Mar. 6th, 2006 04:57 pmWhile I was considering the efficency of Compton gamma cameras in general, I remembered that otakukin, or people who think that they are one or more reincarnated anime charitors are /amazing/. People who think they are dragons are almsost as amazing, but people who think they are normal animals always think that they are wolves or cats or somthing. Which brings me to my new icon, which represents my inner animal/spirit self/true identiy, the albino cave crawfish (Orconectes pellucidus australis). It albinoism represents my lazyness and lack of social skills. Its blindness reflects my lack of insight into spiritual matters, and its overdeveloped feeling appendages represents my skill at groping blindly in the metaphorical darkness of the mundane world and coming to conclusions based on evidence that has been tested throughly. Jointed exoskeletons, as mentioned previously, stand for honour and nobility of purpose.

Date: 2006-03-06 06:46 pm (UTC)I too feel a special attachment to my inner animal and strongly believe that it embodies my spiritual essence in a way that simply existing in human form cannot.
The pigeon's persistence at picking at the dry pavement even in the face of numerous adversaries such as human feet, cats, cars and buses, as well as a blatently apparent lack of actual foodstuffs represents my own ability to carry on even in the face of the seemingly overwhelming odds against me. The blissful ignorance (which some cruelly label stupidity) in which the noble pigeon continues through its life is merely a representation of my resistence to the poisoned barbs of the physical world's corruption.
Finally, the timid nature of the pigeon shows my own true humble self.
I look upon the pigeon as a ray of light in an otherwise dark world, and, just like the pigeon, I too seek to serve as a constant watchful companion - some might say guardian of - Humanity.
It is reassuring to know that someone else has found their true inner identity.

Date: 2006-03-07 11:01 am (UTC)I don't know what my inner animal is, probably a wolf or a cat, or a freakish wolfcat hybrid with multiple heads. Nah, that would be too damn cool.
Suggestions welcome!

Date: 2006-03-07 11:14 pm (UTC)It seems quite approprite; there's bitterness in lemons and the phrase "sit there like a lemon" denotes apathy. Lemons have eXtreme taste, and their ability to work as batteries represents yamamaya's occasionally surprising outbreaks of activity.
Being bright yellow is symbolic of lemons being bastards. They look all cheery and tempting to eat, and then they make you screw you face up and everyone laughs at you. You might think that they suffer to, but lemons simply don't care, because they hate you so much.
Anyone else?
