I find that a slightly angled stance, one foot slightly forward, reduces the "richness" somewhat. However, the angled stance can also angle the weave resulting in unexpected angles of attack...

I'll try that, but its not too bad, as it is has a poverty of crotchstrike, and a dashing hat substantilly reduces the effect of head hits.
