So the quiz thing has comprehensively proved that I don't know you very well. oops. What I think would be really awesome is if you recommend me a book or a movie or a piece of music or some other lump of culture(sculpture?) which means a lot to you and you can argue about convincingly and passionately. I'll try to read/view/listen/smell it before I see you again and then we can argue about it.

EDIT: Initally, I was asking for things that you can uphold the value of during a discussion. Elmyra has suggested that "Well, maybe sometimes it's appropriate to just appreciate that this is what that person likes/what's influenced them.", so I I'd like recomendations of things that you like or have influanced you too, please.

I read Chocky and I think I've seen movies of Midwich cuckoos and Day of the Triffids, but it was all a long time ago and I don't remember much. You proberbly only get creeped out by Chocky propperly if you have a child who as an invisible friend.

I liked children of men though. Everyone had pets.

I recommend you read The Chrysalids by him.

I can't say if the books influenced me, but I read them when I was quite young so perhaps I did.
