So... anyone got a spare moniter they can give me? this one just stopped using the the side 1/4s of the screen, and is prettty distorted in the middle too. Advice on getting a new one might be nice too. What about those flatscreen jobs?

EDIT: The screen is now alternating between being even more distorted and turing itself off.
Exciting.

Did you accidentally get magnetism all over you whilst in Italy? It might have then stuck to the monitor, messing it up. </intelligent and helpful>
