baloonworldVaguely related to a meme going arround, and to one of the guest of honour speaches at EasterCon, whihc went somthing like this:
"Conventions are magical places, because at them you will meet complete strangers who will say things that make you go `OMG I thought I was the only one that thought that!' and you will fell a sense of connection that is missing from the rest of you life"

xanthipe had all worked out diffraction patterns for people.
So the meme: what I've done which you haven't
1)Observed gamma-ray transitions in 112-Cs using the highly selective technique of recoil-decay tagging.
2)`Worked' at CERN
3)Mined for opals
4)Whilst delivering leaflets for an estate agents offering to sell you house for you, spent a day delivering to an army base, in which every house was owned by the MoD, thus defeating the army.
5)been to a WorldCon
