So I was going to reply to lucykp's comment in this entry,

with something like "Nihilistic philosophy goes well with insipid dead eyed cartoon characters.", but then I decided that I should test the theory by producing Garfield minus Garfield plus Kafka.

Today I got as far as making one, as a sort of proof-of-concept:

Which I misread as "I have you figured out. You refuse to take your life because you're afraid of failure." So now I have abandoned the effort for the obvious reason that Kafka was far to cheerful for Garfield

garfield minus garfield is vast with awesome, i remember there being a strip with garfield about the him being abandoned and dying or something which was very dark and sinister since it was "canon" or whatever.
