The importent quotes for me are:

Thats 10% less money for experiments with existing kit, 25% less for PhD and postdoc positions (obviously only for people dfunded by STFC)

Thats bunch of new kit that we arn't contributing to- since its all international colaborations, it might still get made, we just won't get to use it.

Possibly to somewhere really exotic, like EPSRC or MRC. Maybe, I know MRC did better in the last round of funding, but I don't know how they're doing this time.

Well, we have the new national policies quite clearly laid out, then. We'll make do with yesterday's knowledge and be ready to fight yesterday's war, in order to handle the problems of the future.

To be fair on Britain's constituant parts, there's some extra funding for those of us north of he border from the Scottish Executive, despite their horror at nuclear power.
