Guild of Free Separated Reformed Researchers,

Syndic, I enclose the copies and latest field-translations of the normal fragments, recovered from the Mirror-Tomb referred to in the Codex Bicuitium. I apologies for the weight, but the Merlin protocols insist that all field notes and internal documents be carved in slabs of granite to endue the meta-entropic effects in the vicinity of the Mirror-Tomb. The runes are archaic in the extreme, and there are uncertainties and may be outright errors in the translation.

Yours,
Seeker Firestone,
Greenland Anarchist Non-state,

For the [beginner-class-participant ?] gypsies are to be interview by far the more useful, since they consider, how the world is real will speak, and able, crucial points can be mutual experience e.g. fire, trees and the old guidelines to identify of Blag, while Maids speak convincingly of over such things are completely unable, and instead of of the Knickers, Which Jerky Move, the [Meaning? They can be removed from the trees with a simple tractor. Apples not (in the normal experience, although I keep doubts about the condition of the apples in the [not-normal] world), poisoned or cursed, although something other fruits a distance of the natural poison effects offer, always the same for each kind included.

The formation-member of the apple available in this place was sour to taste and here they informed a normal [talent/skill/ability/power/ritual], which [" as mine; admits is;] "baking" [untranslateable. fragment] connection to the Bakers is beyond my understanding). A hole was cut between the indentions, and the apple is set over a fire. Here there were something disorders, but the fire was apparent to the fire one could use, around a [dragging fishing rod ?] on to burn identically. After one time period, the apple was become "baked apple" and more softly and more sweetly ...

On normal people

In my travels to the furthest reaches of this world and others I have had encounters with several normal people, and tentatively identify three major groups, those of Bakers, Maids and Gypsies. For the beginner student, Gypsies are by far the more useful to interview, as they are aware of how the world actually is, and may be able to identify key points of mutual experience, for example, Fire, Trees and the Ancient Rules of Blag, while Maids are completely incapable of speaking convincingly about such things, and will instead speak of Curtsying, Bobbing, The Importance of Washing Behind Ears, How to Speak While In The Presence Of Ladies, and Knowing Your Place, none of which make any sense, although the first two may be imitated to some success after extensive training.

No purely normal Baker has ever been successfully identified; the Baker I encountered claimed fay ancestry, demonstrated an affinity to air magic and had a proved history of combat, and may be regarded as a degenerate specimen, contaminated by the way the world actually is.

The gypsies explained several of the secrets of normal behaviour to me, and I here transcribe my field notes:

They showed me a collection of greenish objects, roughly spherical, with indentations on opposite sides, the size of a mace head and explained that it was an "apple", which is in turn a sort of "fruit" with can be eaten, as one would ingest potions, tribal feasts or malt loaf. These "fruit" grow on trees, more commonly known for their use by goblins for magical transpiration for assassination and escape and by druids for symbiotic healing. They can be removed from the trees with a simple tug. Apples are not (in normal experience, although I retain doubts about the nature of apples in the real world) trapped, poisoned or cursed, although some other fruits offer a range of natural poison effects, always the same for each type.

The subtype of apple available in that place was sour, to taste, and here they taught my a normal craft known as "baking" (Any connection to Bakers is beyond my understanding). A hole was cut between the indentations, and the apple is placed over a fire. Here there was some confusion, but the fire was apparently identical to the fire one might use to burn a troll on. After a period of time, the apple would become a "baked apple", and both softer and sweeter.

This is an utter joy to read; I shall be good and try not to play a Gypsy Baker next time out :)

Thank you :)
How can people with the Normal skill list be members of two guilds? Is it some sort of insidious normal plot? :)

Also: How would the Headscarf/Baker's hat work ? :D
